Wednesday Gravel 6:30AM departs from 26th St. and San Vicente Blvd. in Santa Monica

Headed toward Sullivan Ridge Fire Road

Riding up Capri is conversational pace (for some). The group stops for a regroup at Casale and Capri before dropping into Sullivan Ridge Fire Road.

If you have limited time, a turn around point at the tree or dirt Muholland is common. Let your fellow riders know you are in for half the ride.

From the tree to the next climbs peak, it's ten minutes (at a reasonable pace). Then enjoy a fast false flat that has you riding Sullivan Ridge.

Dirt Mulholland intersects with Sullivan Ride Fire Road, a quick regroup then we take Dirt Muholland to the Nike tower, refill on water and descend Westridge.

An option for single track is available on Westridge, discuss with group if you are taking the single track.

Another regroup at the Westridge trailhead before returning to the city for coffee and calories.

Safety:

Be mindful of other trail users and trail dwellers. It's common to see vermin, snakes, dogs, hikers, and other cyclists.

The decent into Westridge trailhead is fast, fun, and flows well. Watch for ruts, maintain a safe yet fun speed and communicate with other trail users and group members.

Make sure you have the appropriate equipment (bike, tires, repair kit) suitable for rocky, sandy and slippery conditions.  Be sure you are self-sufficient, with means to fix flats and torque cleats.
